The viral footage shows a black Rolls-Royce Ghost stranded in the middle of a waterlogged street in Delhi.

With the onset of the monsoon in North India a few days ago, Delhi has been deluged by heavy rainfall, resulting in widespread flooding and severe traffic jams. Amid this chaos, a video of a luxury car trapped on a flooded road has gone viral, leaving social media users shocked. The viral footage captures a black Rolls-Royce Ghost stranded in the middle of a waterlogged street in Delhi with its hazard lights blinking as smaller vehicles navigate around it. The video was recorded by a man driving a Maruti Suzuki vehicle, with overlay text stating, “Rolls Royce Ghost stuck in Delhi rains.”

The video was shared on Instagram by a page named Car Crazy India. The accompanying caption read, “No matter the price of the car, the whole point of having a car is to be able to drive it whenever you want. Sad to see a Rolls Royce Ghost breaking down in waterlogged roads of Delhi. The sadder thing is how the infrastructure is in the capital of India.”

The page also shared another video from a different angle, showing the luxury Rolls-Royce Ghost immobilised in the flooded road while other vehicles navigate around it. In this footage, another luxury car, a Volvo XC60, is also seen stuck just a few meters ahead of the Rolls-Royce Ghost. The caption read, “Not the cars you usually expect to get stuck on Delhi Roads, feat. ROLLS ROYCE GHOST and Volvo XC60 stuck on flooded Delhi roads.”

Since being shared online, the video has sparked a debate with reactions ranging from disbelief and humour to serious discussions about the practicality of luxury cars in such extreme weather.

One user hilariously commented, “Rolls Royce literally got Ghosted,” while another wrote, “What’s the rated water wading capacity for these luxury cars? When cheap cars have no issues with this water depth…”

A person said, “Maruti 800 is best.” Another chimed in, “European cars are really sensitive to stagnant water. My audi had steering failure last year.”

Adding to the humour, someone remarked, “This day will ghost him for life.”

A viewer wrote, “Wagonr bhi nikal gayi (Even Wagon R passed easily),” while another quipped, “Alto le lo (Buy Alto).”
