Julia Roberts recently opened up about her romance with husband Daniel Moder at the 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland. During the event, she fondly recalled their early connection, which began nearly 25 years ago when they shared a dance to a Dave Matthews Band song, even before Daniel’s previous marriage ended. The Oscar-winning actress passionately encouraged the audience to applaud, expressing her admiration as an “ardent lifelong” fan of both her cinematographer husband and the band.
As per Page Six, the Pretty Woman star said, “The first time I ever danced with my husband was almost 25 years ago to a Dave Matthews Band song. That was a winning combination as I have been swooning over my husband and this band ever since. You can clap for that, swooning. You can clap for swooning. Fans of the Dave Matthews Band? We’re not just fans. We are lifelong fans, ardent lifelong fans.”
Julia Roberts also thanked Dave Matthews Band for making a big impact on her life. She mentioned that the band has played a special role in her journey and she felt “deeply honoured” to celebrate the achievements of its members, including Dave, Stefan Lessard, Carter Beauford, Boyd Tinsley and LeRoi Moore.
Along with Roberts, Jack Black, Dave Chappelle, Chuck D, Sammy Hagar and Roger Daltrey, were also in attendance for the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony.
Julia Roberts and Daniel Moder first crossed paths on the set of the 2001 film The Mexican. During the time, Daniel was married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg, while Julia was in a relationship with actor Benjamin Bratt. In June 2001, Julia ended her nearly four-year relationship with Bratt. A year later, Moder got divorced from Steimberg. The couple exchanged vows on July 4, 2002, at Roberts’ ranch house in Taos, New Mexico. They welcomed twins in 2004 and a third child in 2006. Despite their busy lives in Hollywood, Roberts and Moder have made an effort to keep their family life private.
