THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The mortal remains of Swami Sakrananda, former head of the Sree Ramakrishna Ashrams at Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram, who died on Friday, were consigned to flames on Saturday morning. The ashes were immersed in the sea at Kanyakumari on Saturday evening. Sakrananda, 87, died of agerelated illness here. The cremation was held at the Nettayam Ashram of the Mission, near here, shortly after 9 a.m., Ashram officials said.
People from all walks of life visited the Nettayam Ashram to pay tributes to Sakrananda.
