BELLARY: It was like a litmus test for the Reddys on Monday. G Janardhan Reddy and his close confidant B Sreeramulu walked out of a press conference, unable to face the volley of questions thrown at them on the recent political developments. After awarding prizes to different contingents that excelled in the Independence Day parade, former ministers G Janardhan Reddy, B Sreeramulu with MLA G Somashekhar Reddy, MP J Shantha, ZP president Aruna Tippareddy and Mayor Parvati Indushekhar attended a press conference.Sreeramulu spoke about development works when Janardhan Reddy was district minister and refused to speak about politics. When asked about the controversy over unfurling the national flag in Bellary, Sreeramulu said that he was disheartened by the absence of Balachandra Jarkiholi. “If he had hoisted the flag, we would have joined him, like we did now,” he said. When asked if the Reddys took it a matter of prestige to hoist the flag and not allow others to do so, Reddy and Sreeramulu were visibly agitated.
