Five more questioned in Sankararaman case

PUDUCHERRY: Of the 24 accused in the Sankarararaman murder case,13 were present in the court, and principal district and sessions judge T Ramasamy questioned five amongst them here, on Thursday. The accused--Arumugham (Accused 16), Dil Pandian (A17), Sathish (A 18), Devaraj (A19) and Arun (A 20)--denied the statements deposed by the prosecution witnesses during the cross-examination and claimed that a false case had been foisted against them. On Friday, the judge will question four more of the accused.Sankararaman, manager of the Sri Varadarajaperumal temple was murdered in 2004. The Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi and his junior Vijayendra Saraswathi are the main accused in the case.
