Who Is Bhadreshkumar Patel And Why Is He On FBI’s Most Wanted List With A Reward Of Up To $250,000?
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation has been looking for Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel who has been accused of killing his wife.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) declared a reward of up to $250,000 for any information leading to the capture of Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel. Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, an Indian-American, is on the ten most wanted list of the US investigative agency.

“The FBI offers a reward of up to $250,000 for info leading to the arrest of Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, wanted for allegedly killing his wife while they were working at a donut shop in Hanover, Maryland, on April 12, 2015," the FBI notice read.

Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel is a fugitive and has been on the run since killing his wife in 2015. He and his 21-year-old wife, Palak Patel, used to work at a Dunkin’ Donuts in Hanover, Maryland. He attacked his wife with a kitchen knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds in the shop’s backroom. He has been on the FBI’s radar since 2017.

When customers did not see the presence of any workers in the outlet, they called authorities who then found out that Palak was murdered. According to news radio station WTOP, Palak wanted to return to India as their visas had expired a month before the murder occurred. This led to several arguments between the couple leading up to the day Palak was murdered. US news media outlets reported that Bhadreshkumar wanted to stay but Palak was opposed to living in the US.

CCTV footage from the night of Palak’s murder shows both of them walking towards the outlet’s kitchen before disappearing behind the racks.

Patel faces charges including first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

The US district court in Baltimore in April 2015 issued an arrest warrant after Patel was charged with fleeing to avoid prosecution. Patel was last known to have taken a taxi from a New Jersey hotel to a train station in Newark.

The FBI said that the Gujarat-born 32-year-old ‘should be considered armed and extremely dangerous’.
