Air India has revamped its fare structure to make flying more convenient for passengers.
The airline has introduced enhanced fare families, rebranding its pricing plans to cater to different customer needs across markets.
New Fare Families Unveiled
Starting from October 17, 2024, Air India now offers eight fare categories across four cabin classes:
- Economy: Value, Classic, Flex
- Premium Economy: Classic, Flex
- Business: Classic, Flex
- First Class: First
These fare options come with increasing baggage allowances and greater flexibility for cancellations or date changes for a small extra cost. Passengers can choose a plan that suits their specific needs, and Air India promises to expand its range of services in the future. These new fare families are available on both domestic and international flights.
Full-Service Experience for All
No matter which fare category passengers choose, Air India assures a complete full-service flying experience. This includes free hot meals, checked-in baggage allowances, carry-on baggage, and reward points through their Flying Returns loyalty program.
Special Fare Structure for UK and Europe Flights
For passengers flying to Europe and the UK, Air India has introduced a more budget-friendly ‘Value’ fare in Economy. This offers one checked-in bag of 23kg with limited flexibility. Those looking for more flexibility and baggage can opt for ‘Classic’ and ‘Flex’ fares, which allow two checked-in bags of 23kg each. The ‘Value’ fare is exclusive to Economy class.
Why the Change?
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer at Air India, said, “We have rebranded and simplified the fare families to provide a unique product and service value proposition at each price point. We have also redesigned and relaunched market-specific fare families which cater to unique customer preferences across geographies.”
How to Book?
Air India’s new fare plans are available through all major platforms, including their website, mobile app, online travel agencies (OTAs), and travel agents.
