'Jugaad': MBA Student Asks For Job Referrals on Coldplay Ticket-Related Thread
An MBA student commented on a Coldplay ticket-related thread and asked working professionals for job referrals. Surprisingly, he landed a few of them.

Coldplay is making a long-awaited return to India after nine years, with three electrifying shows lined up for January 2025. When tickets went live on BookMyShow on September 22, fans flooded the site and patiently waited in virtual queues to secure them. Many were even sharing updates online on how many people stood between them and their golden ticket. Amid this, an MBA student took a bold chance on a Grapevine thread – not to talk tickets, but to ask working professionals for job referrals. Surprisingly, his hustle paid off, and he landed a few referrals.

“Hustle Max Pro: So a student got into a Coldplay ticket-related thread and asked all the working professionals for referrals and even succeeded with a few,” wrote Saumil Tripathi while sharing a screenshot on X (formerly known as Twitter).

As per the screenshot, a discussion was going on Grapevine where people were sharing their ticketing woes. A student replied to the comment and wrote, “Hi, can you please give me a referral for a fresher’s role? I’m pursuing an MBA in finance.”

An individual, working at Razorpay, replied to his comment and wrote, “Asking for referral even in the Coldplay queue. This is the coldest of emails I have ever seen.”

The student replied to this comment by a Razorpay employee and wrote, “I’m in a queue too, to get selected by a good company. You’re from Razorpay. I think you should give me a referral too.”

Razorpay employee then asked the student to drop him a direct message.
