Dak Kanwar Yatra: Pilgrims To Embark On 900-kilometre Journey In 54 Hours
The Dak Kanwar Yatra is going to start from Dwarkadhish Temple, Gujarat, on August 4, to Indore.

The month of Sawan commenced on July 22, a period when the devotees of Lord Shiva embarked on the holy Kanwar Yatra. Devotees from all across the country engage in the practice, to showcase their devotion to Lord Shiva. Local18 reports that over 25 Kanwar Yatras are set to start from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. One of those will be the Dak Kanwar Yatra, considered the most difficult of all.

Devotees are starting their journeys from places like Maheshwar and Omkareshwar, leaving for Ujjain, MP, carrying water from the Narmada river. So, to prepare for the Dak Kanwar Yatra, the most difficult and equally rewarding journey, numerous organizations have volunteered to make the journey easy for the pilgrims.

As per the reports, people have made arrangements for tea, breakfast and food items for the routes of Omkareshwar to Indore, Maheshwar to Indore and Indore to Ujjain. This service will be carried out throughout the month of Shravan.

According to Local18, the Dak Kanwar Yatra is going to start from Dwarkadhish Temple, Gujarat, on August 4, to Indore. The pilgrims are expected to cross a 900-kilometre journey in 54 hours. After reaching Indore, they will perform Jalabhishek at Ram-Rameshwar temple, situated in Scheme- 78. The Dak Kanwar Yatra is in the 10th year of its journey. The speciality of this journey is that the pilgrims will be running to Indore, in alternate groups, without stopping. On August 2, around 200 pilgrims will be leaving Indore for Gujarat.

On Wednesday, the Baneshwari Kanwar Yatra commenced from Maheshwar and reached Mhow. As per more reports, the pilgrims were expected to leave for Ujjain from Indore, also a part of the journey. The Indore group will complete the journey in a day, as they will be journeying through vehicles and will reach the destination by Sunday.
