The measure is being taken to address the shortage of staff and future requirements at various posts in Delhi prisons.

There is good news for the aspirants who dream of getting a job in the Delhi government. Soon, many posts in Delhi prisons will be filled up. The Delhi Governor has approved the creation of 3,247 additional posts for Delhi prisons. For this purpose, many posts will be created.

The posts to be created for Delhi prisons include Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Head Warden, Head Matron, Warden, Head of Department, Accountant, Assistant and Driver. This measure is to address the shortage of staff and future requirements at various posts in Delhi prisons.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor, V K Saxena, has ordered to fill up these posts within six months. If you too are interested in getting a job in the Delhi government, then you should visit the official websites of the concerned government departments from time to time.

Besides, V K Saxena distributed appointment certificates to 627 newly recruited Delhi government and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) employees, including 27 doctors, at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan last week.

Saxena said the recruitment process has been expedited by the Delhi State Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (DSSSB) and that another 20,000 government posts are expected to be filled by March 2025 to reduce the “huge vacancies” in various departments of the city government.

“We are committed to Hon ‘ble PM’s emphasis on ending adhocism in govt jobs & creating opportunities for eligible candidates in a free, fair & transparent manner. My best wishes to all new joiners.,” the Delhi government said in a post on X, congratulating the recruits.

With more than 17,000 permanent recruitments by the DSSSB in the last two years, the number exceeds the total number of appointments in the last ten years, he said.

The recruits have been posted in various departments including Education, Health and Family Welfare, DTC, Fire Services, DUSIB, NDMC, MCD, NDMC and Irrigation.

The Chief Minister said the permanent recruitments were in line with the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ by the year 2047 and urged the recruits to discharge their duties with vigour and zeal coupled with utmost honesty and transparency for the welfare of the people of Delhi.

He also directed to fill up all the vacant posts as soon as possible so that citizen-facing services in Delhi can be improved.
