In Bengaluru, a man experienced the repercussions of venting his frustration on a police officer who would have otherwise let him off lightly for a lesser offence. Sayyad Rafi, caught riding a scooty without a helmet near Wilson Garden 10th cross, found himself at the center of a viral video recorded by head constable Sidrameshwara Kaujalagi, who aimed to document the violation.
Resisting and retaliating, Rafi fiercely confronted one of the officers who had stopped him and confiscated his vehicle key. His agitation escalated as he dismounted the scooter and confronted the police. In a moment of extreme frustration, he even resorted to biting the finger of the officer to retrieve his key. This prompted immediate detention by the police, unable to tolerate his aggressive response despite his violation of the rules. Consequently, Rafi faces charges of obstructing a police officer in the discharge of duty, criminal intimidation, and breach of peace.

According to a police officer speaking to TOI, “Suddenly, the rider stopped his bike and yelled at the constable, saying he’d hand over the number plate to him and he could click as many pictures as he needed. Then the youth snatched Kaujalagi’s mobile phone and tried to speed away. However, Kaujalagi chased and stopped him. Then the youth attacked him and bit his fingers. Hearing the commotion, a Hoysala vehicle reached the place and detained the youth.”
