Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has become a favourite among viewers, thanks to its engaging storyline. The current focus is on the second generation actors like Shakti Arora, Bhavika Sharma and Sumit Singh. Among the cast, Shakti, who is playing the character of Ishaan Bhosale, stands out and has gained admiration for his impressive performance. Despite his success, many may not be aware of Shakti’s connection to the entertainment world. The actor is the grandson of renowned actor-producer-director Chandrashekhar and the founder of CINTAA. His father, Naresh Kumar Arora, also contributed to CINTAA. However, in a recent interview with Bombay Times, Shakti shared his perspective on nepotism in television. Despite his family background, he faced his share of challenges and never received opportunities. When expressing his desire to act, his grandfather advised him to pursue an MBA and secure a job.
Shakti said, “Ek kaudi ka nepotism nahi hai. So my father used to work in CINTAA, my grandfather founded CINTAA. I did not get any opportunity because of my grandfather. When I told him I want to become an actor, he told me ‘do an MBA and do a job, you’re not worth it, probably you won’t be able to act ever.’ So it was like a slap on my face, ‘that I belong to this family, so why am I not being promoted.’ There are more people from my family in this industry, but they tried and I didn’t get work because at that time I wasn’t that capable. They felt that probably I won’t get work. So I had to carve my own path, I had to struggle my own way and find a work, so I never took their names. So, I did even the smallest roles on my own merit, worked as a body double, worked as a junior artist for 1 or 2 days.”
Shakti Arora further revealed that his grandfather initially doubted his acting abilities. However, after witnessing his performance as the lead in his first show, his grandfather was pleasantly surprised and called him a natural actor. Despite being introduced to prominent producers like Yash Chopra and Subhash Ghai, Shakti did not receive recommendations to be cast as a hero. This lack of endorsement might have indicated to others that he wasn’t suitable for the hero roles. His grandfather, instead of promoting him as a hero, used to tell producer that Shakti worked in a call centre or any other job. He then decided to carve his own path by auditioning for various opportunities, even though initial results were not in his favour.
Before Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin, Shakti has worked in hit shows such as Kundali Bhagya, Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka and more.
