Stop flying, come down to the ground: Congress to BJP
Special Invitee to the Congress Working Committee, Anil Shastri, said, "What happened to Amit Shah's masterstroke in Delhi? Seems lost sight of ground reality in just 9 months? Stop flying & come to the ground."

New Delhi: Having drawn a blank in the Delhi polls, Congress on Tuesday sought solace in BJP's drubbing at the hands of the Arvind Kejriwal-led outfit with party leaders advising its saffron rivals at the Centre to "stop flying and come to the ground".

While Congress questioned whether RSS had given its backing to BJP candidates in these elections, a party leader also referred to the "Rs 10 lakh suit" attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in reference to the suit he was said to have worn during US President Barack Obama's visit to India and asked "whether he will do some gup sap tonight with his American friend".

"Congratulations to Kejriwal and AAP for Landslide Victory. Now they have to deliver on their promises. Did RSS support BJP in this Election? "BJP lost the day they projected Kiran Bedi as CM candidate & brought all Leaders from outside to Campaign not trusting Local Leaders/Workers," Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh said on twitter.

Special Invitee to the Congress Working Committee, Anil Shastri, said, "What happened to Amit Shah's masterstroke in Delhi? Seems lost sight of ground reality in just 9 months? Stop flying & come to the ground." In another tweet, he said, "People of late can see 'ahankar' (arrogance) in Mr Modi's speeches & body language. His arrogance will further bring him down in people's eyes."

Raking up the Modi suit controversy, Shastri said, "It seems Delhiites have not forgotten the Rs 10 lac (sic) suit of Mr Modi. He should talk less & deliver more which people can see." Alleging that the Obama visit had "boomeranged" on Modi, Shastri asked sarcastically, "will Modi do some 'gup sap' tonight with his American friend on hot line? "Mr Obama may again rimind (sic) the PM of Article 25 of our Constitution on the hot line. Why not do away with it? Mr Modi... you are vulnerable."

Meanwhile, holding that it was a a "big setback for BJP", the Congress's face for Delhi polls, Ajay Maken, remarked, "Narendra Modi had said that the trend of Delhi is reflected in the nation as well. So Delhi results show that there is now anti-BJP wave in the whole country.

"BJP had also talked quite a lot about the achievements of the central government in advertisements in newspapers during the polls. It shows that people have negated that also."

What's your reaction?
