Delhi polls: NRIs come out in large numbers to support Kejriwal's AAP
The NRIs believe that Delhi is ready for a change under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership.

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party is getting massive support from the NRIs. Many NRIs have come to India and joined the AAP election campaign in Delhi while several others are supporting Kejriwal through social media.

One of the NRI supporters Dr Munish is in the Chicago, USA but his purpose is to ensure that AAp wins the Delhi Cantonment Assembly segment. Like Dr Munish more than 100 Indians have adopted the Delhi Cantonment seat are seeking vote for the AAP candidate. They are also raising funds through social media.

Dr Munish says he and other NRIs are connecting to other people through Facebook and then have been calling them to vote for Kejriwal's party.

It is not only Chicago but NRIs in several other countries have also adopted many constituencies of Delhi. A group of NRIs from Australia have adopted New Delhi, Singapore NRIs have Trilokpuri, New Zealand has Seelampur, South Korea has Shalimar Bagh and Germany has Burari, the US city of Seattle is looking after the Karawal Nagar seat.

There are about 18 NRI groups which have doctors, engineers, housewives, teachers and students as their members working for AAP.

Kejriwal's supporters are collecting voters information and analysing them. They are also handling Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media tools. They are not only raising funds, but are also helping in finalising election manifesto and campaign plans. NRI supporters are also trying connect to the voters using Skype under Call The Citizens Campaign.

AAP leader Manish Sisodia says the work load has reduced after NRIs joined them and now he and other AAP leaders can concentrate on the ground work.
