The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is expected to release an official notification soon for the Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC and CBN) examination. According to the SSC examination calendar, the notification was initially scheduled for May 7th but has been delayed for unspecified reasons. The commission has yet to announce a new date for the notification.
All the candidates appearing for the exam are advised to keep an eye on the official site of the commission at ssc.gov.in for updates on dates. The SSC MTS exam is a national-level exam conducted every year to recruit candidates for the Group C posts in the Central Government.The SSC MTS tier 1 exam is tentatively scheduled for July-August.
SSC MTS 2024: Eligibility Criteria
To apply for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) candidates must be between 18 to 25 years of age and should have passed Class 10th from a recognised board, while for those applying for the SSC Havaldar Post the age limit is 18 to 27 years. However, some relaxations are there for the reserved category candidates.
SSC MTS 2024: Exam Pattern
The exam will be conducted on a computer-based examination in two sessions. The exam will consist of 90 questions carrying a total of 270 marks.
The first session will be divided into two sections: Numerical – Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability- Problem-Solving, while the second session will have questions related to General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension.
Note the SSC MTS Exam 1 will have subjective type questions. One mark will be deducted for every wrong attempt in Session 2. However, no negative marking is there for Session 1.
SSC MTS 2024: Selection Process
Candidates applying for the Havaldar post should appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST) after successfully qualifying for the SSC MTS Tier 1 exam.
SSC MTS 2024: Passing Criteria
The minimum passing percentage for General category students is 30 per cent, for OBS and EWS it is 25 per cent and 20 per cent for SC, ST and other reserved categories.
SSC MTS 2024: Application Fee
Students belonging to the General category and Other Backward Classes (OBC) need to deposit an Application fee of Rs 100. However, those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWBD) and female candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
