CBI files chargesheet against 22 members of scam-hit Adarsh Society
The Bombay court had directed the CBI to look into benami transactions involved in the allotment of the flats in Adarsh housing society.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Thursday filed a supplementary chargesheet in the Adarsh Housing scam. The chargesheet has been filed against 22 members of the society, and 24 finances and co-conspirators involved.

The Bombay court had directed the CBI to look into benami transactions involved in the allotment of the flats in Adarsh co-operative housing society.

On Wednesday, the CBI had filed a revision petition in the Bombay High Court to get charges dropped against former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in the Adarsh scam.

The special CBI court, in January this year, had turned the CBI's plea to drop Chavan's name from the First Information Report (FIR). Chavan had stepped down as the Chief Minister after the scam came to light in 2010.
