FRIENDS fame Matthew Perry died at the age of 54. The actor played Chandler Bing in the popular American sitcom. According to reports, Matthew was found dead at his LA home on Saturday evening. He was found dead in his jacuzzi at home. Although reports claim that he died of apparent drowning, an official statement is yet to be made by the LA Police.

As the heartbreaking news took over, the internet filled with grief and anguish. Social media platform ‘X’ was filled with heartfelt tributes as users reacted to the sad news. While some said that they were unable to believe the news, others shared some of their favourite ‘Chandler Bing’ moments.

“watching friends for the first time and falling in love with chandler bing is something i will forever hold dearly. one of the best characters on television, and one of the best actors to play it. im beyond distraught. matthew perry was too young. this is heartbreaking,” wrote an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “whether he was chandler bing or matthew perry, he always wanted to make us, the audience, laugh. we were always his first thought. and for that, i will always love you. I know I didn’t know you personally, but you made me so happy. You’re at peace now, Matthew Perry.”

The actor battled addiction to alcohol and opioids. He sought help for the same by admitting himself to rehab multiple times. Matthew had confessed that he doesn’t remember shooting three seasons of the show. One of his last appearances on the screen was in 2021 when Matthew joined the cast of Friends for a special reunion episode.
