Shahid Kapoor Team up With Vashu Bhagnani For His Next, to Play Ashwatthama; Here’s What We Know

Shahid Kapoor, who was last seen in Bloody Daddy, is all set to star in a mythological drama. Yes, you are reading. If reports are to be believed then Shahid has teamed up with Vashu Bhagnani for his next film. And this will be the first time he will play a mythological hero role. Well, any official announcement is still awaited. PeepingMoon.com has shared in its exclusive report that the film is based on the Hindu epic Mahabharata and depicts the fascinating and tragic tale of Guru Dronacharya’s son, Ashwatthama.

PeepingMoon.com quoted an industry source saying, “Vashu Bhagnani and Jackky Bhagnani have been developing this ambitious project since early this year and are determined to create a visual spectacle that promises audiences a cinematic experience like never seen before in Indian cinema. It will be mounted on a humongous scale with a global VFX team and an ensemble cast comprising actors from across the Indian film industry. Shahid is already signed on and will undergo intense physical training to embody the character of Ashwatthama.”

Months back it was reported that Shahid Kapoor was about to start filming his next project with Anees Bazmee. Rashmika Mandanna was also cast opposite Shahid in the Dil Raju-produced project. The big-budget action comedy, however, did not go on floors because Shahid Kapoor has left the film due to creative differences. A report by Pinkvilla mentioned that they had parted ways on “amicable terms.” Reportedly, the shoot was set to begin in August.

Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon will be soon sharing screen space in an untitled romantic drama. Taking to Instagram, production house Maddock Films shared a poster of the film and wrote, “Mark your calendars – Valentine Week! Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan present an untitled film starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, set to release on February 9, 2024.” Apart from Shahid and Kriti, the film also stars the legendary actor Dharmendra. Earlier the film was slated to hit the theatres in October 2023, then it was shifted to December 7. Now it’s set to release in Valentine’s Week, February 9, 2024. The film also stars veteran actor Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles.
