Filmmaker Vetrimaaran received accolades for his socio-political film Viduthalai, starring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in pivotal roles. The director is now gearing up for the release of Viduthalai Part 2. Now, the dubbing for this film has also started, and Viduthalai 2’s production house, RS Infotainment, has also tweeted the pictures. The pictures show Vijay Sethupathi and other cast members performing puja, discussing in front of the mic. The picture’s caption reads, “Aarambichachu… Dubbing for #ViduthalaiPart2 has officially begun today! #vetrimaaran An @ilaiyaraaja Musical”.

Viduthalai Part 2’s release date has also been announced. It will be released in the theatres on December 20. Ilaiyaraaja scored the music for Viduthalai Part 2.

Viduthalai Part 2, a Tamil period crime thriller film, continues the narrative from Viduthalai Part 1. Following the success of Part 1 in 2023, the team has diligently directed the sequel. According to the reports, a third party might be important to fully showcase the story. There is no official confirmation that a third instalment will be directed. Reportedly, the final shooting of the sequel commenced in the first week of September 2024.

The makers had also unveiled the first-look posters of the Viduthalai Part 2 on July 16. It is clear from the poster that the film’s narrative will revolve around Vijay Sethupathi and Manju Warrier’s characters. The poster shows Vijay’s character standing in the field with his bicycle alongside. On the other hand, Manju’s character, draped in a green saree paired with a red blouse, smiles as she stands close to Vijay.

Viduthalai was supposed to be released at cinemas only in one part. It was divided into two parts in 2022 due to its length. Both parts were shot back-to-back. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon and Chethan. Tamizh, Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, Manju Warrier, and others also played key roles in this film. Velraj has handled the film’s cinematography and Ramar has performed the editing. The sequel film revolves around Jeyamohan’s short story, Thunaivan. This film will be released on the big screens in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
