Actress Nivetha Pethuraj recently made it to the headlines after a video of her arguing with the police surfaced on social media. In the video tweeted by anchor Karthik, Nivetha is not obeying the orders of the police officers who want to check the backside trunk of her car.
The 32-year-old actress refused to listen to their requests and even stopped a person from recording the incident. The caption reads, “Actress #NivethaPethuraj argued and hesitated to open backside trunk of the car and scolded the recorded person…Her expressions made Policemen doubt on herself.”

While some of Nivetha’s fans wanted to know about the issue between her and police officers, there is another aspect to the clip. One of the social media users remarked that a concerned official is wearing Crocs shoes instead of the boots worn by police officers normally.

The Red actress is yet to open up regarding the authenticity of the viral video.
As per a Times of India report, she is currently working on the Telugu remake of the Tamil film Soppana Sundari. In this remake, Nivetha will reprise Aishwarya Rajesh’s character from the Tamil film. The viral video might be a promotional tactic to generate buzz for the Telugu remake.
In an earlier interview with the Cinema Express, Nivetha talked about how she wishes to play strong characters. She said, “Several filmmakers are approaching me with women-centric scripts but I’m a little scared to carry the burden of a whole film. Of course, Nayanthara and Samantha are doing such films, but they have been in the industry for a long time and have a different kind of market; they are superstars. For newcomers, this can be a tricky decision. I’m in a phase where I just want strong characters.”
Nivetha Pethuraj has proved her acting skills in the films Virata Parvam, Brochevarevarura, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo etc. She has also made her foray into the fashion world. In 2015, Nivetha was crowned Miss India UAE and went on to participate in Miss India Worldwide. In 2015, she became a finalist and finished in the top 5.
