One actor of the 90s who stole everyone’s breath away, not just with his smile and charm but also with his performances, is Chandrachur Singh. He gained much popularity and fame, right from his debut. Did you know Chandrachur dreamt of becoming an IAS officer? He left this dream and stepped into Bollywood. When he was at the peak of his film career, he had to leave the industry. He could not enjoy the stardom that he deserved. Chandrachur Singh disappeared from the silver screens and took only small roles, until he made a comeback on the OTT. Chandrachur Singh is considered to be one of the most educated stars of Bollywood. He once dreamed of becoming an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer. He left his Union Public Commission Service (UPSC) preparation mid-way to try out his luck in the world of acting. Right when his career in Bollywood peaked, he met with an accident that created such turmoil that it changed his entire life and impacted his career as well.

In an interview with a news portal, he opened up about his accident. He revealed that he was water skiing in Goa and he missed his grip. The speedboat was moving at a high speed and the enormous force pulled his right hand out of the shoulder joint. Luckily, his hand did not get torn off his body because when he fell on the water’s surface, his right hand was just hanging by the muscle and skin. After this, getting work became quite difficult and his projects got worse to which he never felt like saying yes. Due to his injury, he could not exercise and keep himself fit. Due to his injury, he underwent physiotherapy for a long time. Since he did not want to take risks with his shoulder, he had to let go of many movies.

Chandrachur Singh marked his acting debut in 1996 with the movie Tere Mere Sapne, which was backed by Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited. He has further delivered hits like Maachis, Josh and Kya Kehna. He has also been a part of movies like Daag: The Fire, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya, Zilla Ghaziabad and The Reluctant Fundamentalist. He was last seen on the silver screen in 2013. In 2020, he made his acting comeback with the Disney+ Hotstar crime drama television series, Aarya, opposite Sushmita Sen and left everyone surprised. It is directed by Ram Madhvani.
