Camila Cabello, for more than a decade now, the singer-songwriter has been a star in the music industry. Cabello has delivered some stellar performances and has a strong fan-base. The singer started her career as a part of the popular girl gang Fifth Harmony, but eventually, after their initial success, Camila decided to go solo. Years after giving some blockbuster tracks in her solo career, Camila Cabello opened up about leaving the band.

In the latest episode of the podcast Call Me Daddy, Camila Cabello revealed why she left the band to focus on her solo career in the industry. The singer told the host, Alex Cooper, “I started distancing myself from the group vision, and it felt like, you know, they were still really passionate and into that, and so, I was just like, ‘I’m not happy here anymore, it doesn’t feel aligned.” Moreover, she specified that she used to look for opportunities to be alone and write songs. She shared, “I can remember waking up on tour and going to my hotel room at, like, 7 a.m. and going to my garage band and, like, writing songs, cause I didn’t want to do it while everybody was there and I had such a passion that turned into writing.” This comes amid reports that the band might be heading for a reunion.

Although she left the band in 2016, Camila Cabello shared that she still remembers the good times she spent with them and noted that she learned a lot during her time in the group. After leaving Fifth Harmony, she went on to score many chartbuster songs, including 2017’s Havana, Never Be The Same, and Senorita in 2019 which she sang with her former boyfriend Shawn Mendes. The other band members were Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui.

Meanwhile, in the podcast, Camila Cabello also spoke about her much-discussed relationship with Shawn Mendes. Reportedly, the couple initially split up in November 2021, but were subsequently seen kissing at Coachella in April 2023. While rumours about them were rife for some months in early June, it was reported that they broke up again. When asked about getting back with a former partner, Camilla Cabello said that she was somewhat impulsive.
