Actor Kartik Aaryan is celebrating India’s 2024 T20 World Cup win but is disappointed by Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s retirement from T20 international cricket. In an interview with India Today, he called it a big loss for Indian cricket. On June 29, India won by seven runs against South Africa at the Kensington Oval, securing their second T20 World Cup title since 2007 under MS Dhoni’s leadership.

Talking about Team India’s big win last night, Kartik told India Today, “I’m really happy and excited that India won the World Cup yesterday. It’s like a dream for all of us to witness this. The way Virat (Kohli) played in the finals and how Rohit (Sharma) said that he was saving it for the finals [referring to his previous interview]; even Suryakumar’s (Yadav) catch was unreal. This match was a perfect nail-biter and something which a lot of us won’t forget. (Jasprit) Bumrah in the end, Hardik Pandya, everyone – it was a team effort last night.”

He also commented on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retiring. “We won the World Cup, but sadly, we are losing two diamonds. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are retiring. It definitely breaks my heart and fans’ too,” he said.

Kartik Aaryan had also taken to social media to congratulate team India. He dubbed the team one that refused to surrender.

India surprised everyone by winning their second ICC T20 World Cup title with a seven-run victory over South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. After securing victory in the T20 World Cup, the emotions ran high among Team India members. Rohit Sharma was overwhelmed and fell to the ground, while Rahul Dravid leapt from his chair in excitement. Finally, they are world champions! Hardik Pandya was moved to tears. Post the match, Bollywood took to social media to congratulate the team.
