Director James Gunn has denied that any casting for upcoming Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, including for Adam Warlock, is underway. He responded to tweet with a story claiming that fictional character of Adam Warlock is being cast for his threequel.
Denying any rumours, James wrote, “There is no casting underway for Vol 3. And in what world would I only cast a “Caucasian” if the character has gold skin? And if I wanted a Zac Efron type wouldn’t I go to Zac Efron? Where do you get this nonsense?”

Reports have been doing the rounds for long that Adam Warlock will be joining the MCU. The cosmic hero’s MCU debut was teased during one of the many mid-credits scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. James had said that he cut him from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 to “save him for later.”
Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is set to begin filming in 2021. Its current release date is targeted for 2023.
