The annual Asia Artist Awards (AAA) ceremony will take place on December 27 at Thammasat Stadium, near Bangkok, Thailand. The ceremony honours the achievements and international contributions of South Korean artists in Asian television, film, and music. On October 9, the Asia Artist Awards unveiled the first lineup of the artists who will impress viewers with their electrifying performances.
The official announcement revealed that K-pop groups NewJeans, ZEROBASEONE, QWER, WayV and NCT 127, as well as soloist BIBI, will all attend the ceremony. They are set to entertain the audience with their performances at the 9th AAA.
The K-pop girl group NewJeans, consisting of five members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, was formed by HYBE’s subsidiary company ADOR. The group, who made their debut in 2022 with the song Attention, is best known for their chart-toppers like OMG, Ditto, Get Up, Cool With You, ETA, Super Shy and Hype Boy. Fans can expect an electrifying performance of the five-member group on their hit songs.
The popular K-pop boy group NCT’s sub-unit, NCT 127, debuted in 2016 and is among the industry’s renowned names. In 2020, they received international recognition with their song Kick It. The members include Taeyong, Yuta, Jaehyun, Winwin, Mark, Haechan Doyoung, Jungwoo, and Johnny. Meanwhile, another sub-unit of NCT, WayV, a Chinese boy band, will also enthral the audience at the 9th AAA.
On the other hand, the band ZEROBASEONE, which debuted in 2023, has become an instant hit amongst K-pop fans. The K-pop boy band is known for its songs In Bloom, Crush, and Feel The Pop, among others. It comprises nine members: Kim Ji Woong, Zhang Hao, Sung Han Bin, Seok Matthew, Kim Tae Rae, Ricky, Kim Gyu Vin, Park Gun Wook, and Han Yu Jin. We surely can’t wait to witness their magic on AAA’s stage.
Meanwhile, QWER, who debuted in October last with the single album Harmony from Discord, consists of four members Chodan, Magenta, Hina and Siyeon. It’ll be worth the wait to watch what the newbies in K-pop are going to bring onto the stage of the awards ceremony. Whereas soloist BIBI, aka Kim Hyeong Seo, is best known for songs Bibi Vengeance, Sweet Sorrow of Mother and Animal Farm, among others.
Just days before announcing the first lineup of performances, the organizers of the Asia Artist Awards confirmed through Korean media outlets that IVE’s Jang Wonyoung and ZB1’s Sung Hanbin will be hosting the event. The IVE member has been hosting the awards for four consecutive years since 2021, while the ZEROBASEONE leader made his debut as an MC at the AAA in 2023.
