HYDERABAD: Congress Rajya Sabha member V Hanumanth Rao has demanded enactment of a law to recover money from those who are convicted in corruption cases. Speaking to mediapersons here on Thursday, he said that he had written to prime minister Manmohan Singh, explaining the need for such a legislation. He said those who had amassed wealth through dubious means in iron ore mining would have to go to jail.“Already, some have been jailed and others will have to join them soon.’’ Reacting sharply to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s comment that ‘’the present Congress rule is reminding the Emergency days,’’ Rao said that in fact allusion was more appropriate to the days when YS Rajasekhara Reddy was in power when backward classes were neglected .Those loyal to YSR had benefited most and others faced harassment. The prime minister was well aware of the situation in the state, the MP claimed.Hanumanth Rao, commenting on YS Vijayamma’s letter to the prime minister, said that it was meant to divert people’s attention from CBI investigation into Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assets. The CBI enquiry would ferret out facts and the culprits would have to go to jail, he said. He took exception to Vijayamma saying that the Congress government had ordered CBI porbe and said s She should understand that the probe was ordered by the High Court. Referring to the need for strengthening the Congress, he said party workers should be appointed to nominated posts
