Telangana Man Receives Electricity Bill Of Rs 21 Crore
On June 5, when the electricity department officials shared the electricity bill for Vema Reddy's house it was Rs 21.47 crore for using 297 units.

A resident of Khanapur village, located in Bijinapalle mandal of Mahbubnagar district in Telangana, got the biggest shock of his life when he received an electricity bill of over Rs 21 crore. According to reports, Vema Reddy has been living in Khanapur village for many years. His electricity bill service number is 111000051 and he has been paying it every month.

But on June 5, when the electricity department officials shared the electricity bill for Vema Reddy’s house it was Rs 21,47,48,569 for using 297 units. But his bill was from January 1, 1970, to June 5, 2024.

Reddy was shocked and immediately contacted the officials of the electricity department. According to the locals in the same village, many people have received a bill of crores of rupees in the past. Meanwhile, officials of the local electricity department said that it is true that the bills were high due to a technical error, and they are taking all measures to solve the problem as per the complaint given by the consumers.

Earlier, a similar incident took place when a Gurugram resident got the biggest shock of his life when he received an electricity bill of over Rs 75 crore. Jitendra Kumar said he has made many rounds of the electricity board office but the issue has still not been resolved. He said the person who delivered the bill to his house also promised to rectify it, but nothing has been done yet.

Jitendra Kumar said his previous bills ranged from Rs 5,000 to Rs 9,000 and is baffled by the latest amount. He also shared that he has a domestic connection and his two-month bill is Rs 75,61,00,000. He was shocked to see this bill amount. He also added that the worth of his house is less than the bill.

Another similar incident took place in Chandigarh where a paan or betel-leaf seller got an electricity bill in Diwali. His bill was a whopping over Rs 132 crore.
