NIZAMABAD: Police here have arrested a man for killing his daughter Mounika 10 days ago for eloping with a boy from a lower caste.The incident came to light Saturday when the man confessed to the murder.The incident took place at Rameswarampalli village in Nizamabad.Mounika, 18, a student, ran away with boyfriend Pradeep of the same village and married him.Mounika’s father, Amrutha Reddy, a Dubai returnee, is a farmer.When his daughter ran away, Amrutha Reddy lodged a complaint of kidnap with the Bikkanuru police.The duo got married, and returned to the village, and police took Pradeep into custody and handed over Mounika to her parents.Ten days ago, Mounika was found dead under and police registered a case of suicide on the basis of a statement by her father.But police suspected foul play and questioned Reddy after seeing the post mortem report which suggested that Mounika may have been murdered.During interrogation, Amrutha Reddy confessed.
