Puja Bose said she was hopeful the next comedy-romance flick by Raja Chanda will also be a hit.

Kolkata: Flush with the success of superhit masala entertainer Challenge 2, opposite Deb, popular Hindi serial actor Puja Bose today said she was hopeful the next comedy-romance flick by Raja Chanda will also be a hit.

"Unlike Challenge 2, which is basically an action thriller, Loveria is more a romantic comedy but my role is not of a typical doe-eyed meek, docile girl," Puja, Vrinda in the Tujh Sang Preet Lagai Sajna serial having aired on a national channel earlier, told a press meet this evening.

"The concept of the female lead is changing in film industry and more tomboyish girl characters are now becoming the norm," she said about the movie, having traces of Andaz Apna Apna. Informing that she had been sounded for a project by a young Hindi director for a film, Puja, now shuttling between Mumbai and Kolkata, said, "With Raja Chanda being one of the most prolific directors churning out one hit after another for the young audience hooked to entertainers."

"I hope Loveria, produced by Venkatesh Films, will be a hit from the day of its release on Valentine's day for its simple comedy-romance quotient," she said. Puja, who had paired up opposite three different young heroes in Bengali masala flicks in past six months including Deb, said for her character mattered most than the opposite lead.

The heroine in superhit Telugu film Veedu Theda, would also turn up in Bengali remake of late 70s Hindi hit Rocky starring Mithun's son Mahaakshay Chakraborty. Director Raja Chanda said after blockbuster Challenge 2, Puja could be the only choice as she had such a natural screen presence.

Chanda, who has string of five hits in Tollywood, said even if Bengali masala flicks become copies of Southern hits, those having been popular have not been blindly aped by the makers hers but reinvented for the Bengali audience.

"I am a Vishal Bharadwaj fan. But I found only eight people sitting in a multiplex during a show of his last movie. I don't want to be too much experimental at the expense of losing audiences," Raja said.

Popular music Director Samidh Mukherjee has an important role in the film.
