Renukacharyas brother injured in cylinder blast

SHIMOGA: Excise Minister M P Renukacharya’s brother M P Aradhya suffered burns in a suspected LPG cylinder explosion at a house owned by the minister on the outskirts of the city on Saturday. Aradya who sustained burns on his face has been admitted to a private hospital. The intensity of the blast was such that the tiles of the house were ripped off and strewn apart. The window panes were also damaged.A gas geyser at the site was not damaged but a few household articles gutted. Students of a boys hostel located nearby said that they heard a loud noise and saw smoke emanating from the house. Renukacharya visited the spot. Additional SP Pavin too visited the spot and took stock of the situation.
