A written test to fill 640 vacancies of police constables will be held at the Vivekananda Higher Secondary School on Sunday. The written test is preceded by a physical test held earlier and will be followed by medical tests before joining in the service.
Over 1,106 candidates, including 18 women, who qualified in the physical tests for recruitment as police constables, would appear for the written test held at school in Lawspet.
“The written test will be held in two parts, with 100 objective questions in each paper,” said I D Shukla, deputy inspector general of police. “The test will be valued by optical mark recogniser (OMR) and will be held from 10 am to 12 noon and from 2 pm to 4 pm.”
“The test results will be published on Monday, and the candidates can check their results on www.police.pondicherry.gov.in.”
‘Relax rules for women police candidates’
CM Rangasamy assured that the government would relax rules for physical tests in recruitment of women constables. The decision follows the poor show by women in the physical efficiency test for police recruitment.
