Ophthalmology Meet Concludes

KOCHI: The All India Ophthalmological Conference, 2012, concluded here on Sunday. A total of 8,000 delegates including, over 900 postgraduate students attended the meet. Dr Quresh Muskati from Mumbai has been elected the vice-president of the All India Ophthalmological Society.  The talks by Dr Badrinath of Sankara Nethralaya, Dr Adrian Koh from Singapore and Dr Theo Seiler from Switzerland were the highlights of various technical sessions. For the first time, wet lab and web casting were introduced at the conference. A scientific trade and manufacturer’s exhibition was also held.    The final day’s sessions included talks on ‘Advances in corneal transplantation (Keratoplasty)’ and ‘Advances in use of laser and medicines.
