New Delhi: Severe cold wave is being experienced throughout North India. The lowest temperatures was recorded in Leh and Kargil with the mercury plunging more than 14 degrees below freezing point.
The temperature is expected to remain low in most parts of North India. The dew has converted into ice in the famous Dal lake in Srinagar. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at around 8 degree celcius.
Dense fog was experienced on Friday with the mercury dropping to 7.4 degrees Celsius, one degree below the season's average. With the maximum temperature being recorded at 17.4 degrees Celsius, five degrees below normal, the MeT had declared cold day conditions in Delhi on Thursday.
Predicting party cloudy skies, the weatherman said that maximum temperature may rise to 18 degrees Celsius on Friday. "The skies will remain party cloudy with moderate to dense fog in the morning," a weather official said.
