New wall of temple collapses

BERHAMPUR: The boundary wall of Goudagouduni temple in K Barida village under Beguniapada block collapsed on Wednesday.Following demands by villagers, the Kodala legislator released ` 80,000 for construction of the boundary wall of the temple from MLA LAD funds.The work began under the supervision of Beguniapada block in November last year and completed in January. However, due to substandard work, the boundary wall collapsed last night much to the disappointment of villagers. Demanding reconstruction of the wall, the villagers also alleged that even the connecting road to the temple, laid by the same contractor, has developed cracks.They have demanded an inquiry by the Ganjam Collector.
