National Security Advisor to visit Burdwan blast site today, meet Mamata
Doval's visit comes after the initial enquiry showed that Bangladesh-based Jamat- Ul -Mujahideen, an Al-Qaeda affiliate was planning terror strikes in Bangladesh from Burdwan.

Kolkata: National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will visit Kolkata on Monday to oversee the investigation into Burdwan blast. He will also meet Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and is likely to ask for the state government's full support in the probe being conducted by the National Investigation Agency.

Doval's visit comes after the initial enquiry showed that Bangladesh-based Jamat- Ul -Mujahideen, an Al-Qaeda affiliate was planning terror strikes in Bangladesh from Burdwan.

Mamata Banerjee has faced criticism for her handling of the incident and the opposition parties have accused her of allowing extremist elements to flourish in the state.

Doval is likely to be accompanied by Intelligence Bureau chief Asif Ibrahim and DG National Security Guards Jayanta Narayan Choudhury. Senior officials of RAW and NIA will also be present at the meet. The team is scheduled to the visit the blast site in Burdwan.
