Lodha, who has held the same position during the previous BJP rule will take charge as AG on Thursday.

The senior advocate said "my priority will be disposal of contempt petitions against government officials so that they can discharge their duties instead of frequently appearing before courts".

He said timely reply to the courts with facts, as they would be sought by the courts, in the matters pertaining to the government will also be a priority.

Lodha said he will also pave the way for clearance of held appointments in the courts on different posts so that the vacant seats could be filled and efficiency of the court functioning could be improved as well as employment to the youth could be provided.

Lodha, who has been practicing at Principal Seat of Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur since 1969, has held the positions of presidents of Bar Association and Bar Council of Rajasthan.
