KOCHI: The far-sighted initiatives launched by the Gowda Saraswatha Brahmin(GSB) community in the education sector are highly commendable, Excise and Ports Minister K Babu said here on Sunday evening. Inaugurating the valedictory function of the five-day 125th anniversary celebrations of the TD High School at Mattancherry, the Minister said that the education package implemented by the State Government had ensured the job security of the teachers. He expressed satisfaction that the government’s efforts to ensure peaceful atmosphere on the campuses had yielded the desired results.He wished all success to the teachers in their efforts to shape up a generation of students who held high the values of noble life.Justice Abdul Raheem of the Kerala High Court presided over the meeting. Dominic Presentation MLA, Kochi Corporation councillor Shyamala Sreedhara Prabhu, Corporation Bank DGM Ramakrishna Kini, Thirumala Devaswom president and school manager Kapil R Pai, Cochin Thirumala Devaswom managing adhikari and programme committee chairman R Venkateswara Pai and Cochin Thirumala Devaswom managing committee member Devananda Kamath spoke .The anniversary celebrations concluded on Sunday night with various entertainment programmes presented by former students of the school.
