CHENNAI: Aspiring MBBS and BDS students and their parents in Madurai, Vellore and Tirunelveli were a disgruntled lot as applications for those courses were sold out by mid-morning on Thursday, only the third day of sales. Those waiting in line at centres in these towns created a ruckus, demanding they be given forms. When asked to download the form from the website www.tnhealth.org, they claimed that the website was not opening.Applications in the Chennai seemed to suffice for the day, as Madras Medical College had 65 forms left, and Kilpauk Medical College had 200 forms. These numbers may not hold good unless fresh batches are available by Friday, as weekend sales are expected to be high.Sources at the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) said that sufficient numbers of applications are available at Stanley Medical College and at the Government Dental College. However, the applicants are reluctant to go to the dental college as they are under the impression that only BDS forms are available there. Both MBBS and BDS forms are available at all centres.Sources said a fresh print of 10,000 forms, ordered by the DME is expected to reach by the weekend, to keep up with the demand.
