Panaji: A Marathi and a Kannada film would premier at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2011, to be held in Goa. IFFI would be held from November 23 to December 3. The inaugural function of the 10-day festival would be held in Margao, 35 km from here. 'Bhageerathi', a Kannada film, and Marathi film `Bharat Mazza Desh Aahe' will feature in the Indian Premier Section of the festival, said the spokesman of Entertainment Society of Goa, the nodal agency.

Bhageerathi' is directed by Dr Baraguru Ramchandrappa while `Bharat Mazza Desh Aahe' is directed by Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar. Bhageerathi is based on a Kannada folk ballad, `Kerege Haara' (a sacrifice for a tank).

'Bharat Mazza Desh Aahe '(India is my country), starring veteran Vikram Gokhale and Uttara Bavkar, is a story of a joint family, experiencing declining values.
