An elderly woman was shot dead allegedly by a youth because her dog barked at him in Chitawali village in Firozabad, police said on Sunday. Asharfi Devi (60) was shot dead by Sumit Yadav (25) while she was standing in front of her house in the Sikohabad area in Firozabad this morning, they said.

Police said that Sumit was agitated as Asharfi's dog had barked at him while the two were out on morning walk on Sunday and they had an argument over it. Sumit allegedly shot Asharfi Devi after they returned from the walk, they said, adding that he has been arrested.
