Karaikal gets new Collector

KARAIKAL: J Ashok Kumar, a 2008-batch IAS officer of Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) cadre, took charge as the new collector of Karaikal district recently.Ashok Kumar was hitherto serving as sub-collector at Puducherry. He had earlier served as sub-collector at Karaikal and as regional administrator in Mahe.Speaking to reporters after taking charge, Ashok Kumar said he would accord the highest priority for redressing public grievances. He said people could meet him him in person at any time and he would organise weekly public grievance hearings at the collectorate.
