The grand consecration of the Ram idol, also known as Ram Lalla (Infant Ram), will be performed inside the temple premises of Ayodhya on January 22. Before getting to witness the Lord Ram idol inside the temple, residents of Ayodhya have a chance to catch a glimpse of the idol five days prior to the consecration. However, they will be unable to see the face of the idol before January 22. On January 17, the Ram Lalla idol will be paraded around Ayodhya. The idol’s face will be hidden throughout this period since, in accordance with Sanatan tradition, it cannot be revealed before the idol is consecrated. All further Vedic ceremonies will start after this.
Notable is the construction of an idol representing Lord Ram at five years old, measuring fifty-one inches from foot to forehead. The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is anticipated to make a decision regarding the statue to be placed in the temple by January 5. It is crucial to note that on January 16, the Pran Pratishtha ceremony will begin seven days in advance. Following this, on January 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will consecrate the idol within 84 seconds of the auspicious time. Following this, on the same day, there will be Maha Puja and Maha Aarti.
This puja will be conducted by Acharya Laxmikant Dixit, his son Pandit Arun Dixit, and 121 Vedic Brahmins from all over the nation. Pandit Arun Dixit, son of Laxmikant Dixit, asserts that divinity, or life, enters an idol when it is consecrated in a temple or a house. This is also known as the idol’s waking. The idol is transported using a chariot or other appropriate vehicle. Havan takes place after that. Initially, the idol—known as Jaldhivas—is submerged in water. This allows the craftsman to see any remaining holes or flaws in the idol. Ghee and honey are then used to patch up the crack. The idol is then bathed in cow urine, cow dung, and milk along with medicines, flowers, barks and leaves.
