HC notice to Sambalpur Collector

CUTTACK: Treating a letter petition filed by the Sambalpur Zilla Krushak Sangathan on irregularities in paddy procurement as a PIL, the division bench of Chief Justice V Gopalagowda and Justice BN Mohapatra has issued notice to the Collector, Sambalpur.
The bench has directed Additional Standing Counsel to inform the court on the allegations of the farmers union of gross irregularities in paddy procurement in the district within two weeks. The petitioners have alleged that due to faulty policy and irregularities committed by the district administration, the farmers have been left in the lurch.
