SSC CHSL 2024: Tier II will comprise a skill test and a typing test. The final merit list will be prepared solely based on candidates’ overall performance in the tier II exam

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination (CHSL) 2024 tier II exam dates. Candidates who cleared the tier I exam will be able to appear for the tier II exam, which will be conducted on November 18. The detailed examination schedule can be checked at ssc.nic.in.

A total of 39835 candidates cleared the tier I examination for Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), and 1630 candidates for Data Entry Operator (DEO)/DEO Grade ‘A’ posts. Through the recruitment drive, the SSC aims to fill a total of 3712 vacancies in the commission. “There are approx. 3712 vacancies. However, firm number of vacancies will be determined in due course,” the SSC said in its official notice.

SSC CHSL 2024 Tier II Exam Pattern

The exam will be conducted in two parts — papers 1, and 2. While the first will be held for 2 hours and 30 minutes, the second paper will be conducted for 2 hours. The SSC CHSL tier II exam pattern further includes three sections. The first section consists of mathematical abilities, reasoning, and general intelligence. Section 2 features English language and comprehension and general awareness. The third section comprises computer knowledge and skill tests.

The final merit list will be prepared solely based on candidates’ overall performance in the tier II exam. Candidates who clear the tier II exam will next have to appear for the document verification round.

The SSC CHSL recruitment exam will be held to fill group C positions such as junior secretariat assistant and data entry operators for various ministries, lower divisional clerks; departments; statutory bodies; tribunals, offices of the Government of India, and several constitutional bodies among others. Those selected for the position of Lower Division Clerk (LDC), and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) will get a salary between Rs 19,900 and Rs 63,200. The pay scale for data entry operator positions will be between Rs 25,500 to Rs 81,100, and Rs 29,200 to Rs 92,300.

Applicants must be between the age group of 18 and 27 as of August 1, this year, to be eligible to sit for the recruitment exam. Candidates from the reserved categories, however, have a relaxation in the upper age limit. They must have also cleared class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board.
