A fire broke out in Hastinapur sanctuary here and death of various animals in Tikola forest range and Amanghar range of the area is suspected, forest officials said.
According to Forest Range Officer S K Bansal, the fire, which broke out yesterday and spread to nearby areas, has not been controlled yet. A forest team has been sent to the area, he said, adding that danger to wildlife exists.
The sanctuary falls under the districts of Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Meerut and Moradabad.
