JHARSUGUDA: If the results trickling in are any indication, BJD star campaigners, Rajya Sabha member Pyarimohan Mohapatra and cine star and Berhampur MP Siddhant Mohapatra besides Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik failed to impress the voters here. Now, the Congress led by Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das is all set to form the Zilla Parishad having won seven out of the nine seats. In the three ZP seats - Laikera Zone I, Laikera Zone II and Kolabira - for which elections were held on Wednesday, Congress candidates Tulabati Minz, Umashankar Pradhan and Renuka Kansarale won from the seats respectively. All the candidates defeated their nearest BJD rivals and Renuka Kansarale is set to become the Zilla Parishad President with the seat reserved for SC (Woman).
