BANGALORE: The Sampigehalli police arrested a 29-year-old person who raped and murdered a 7-year-old girl.The accused Anil Kumar, a resident of Mysore, had kidnapped the victim, who is also from the same village.The parents of the victim had lodged a complaint with the Bangalore city police commissioner on April this year suspecting that kidnappers must have brought the girl to Bangalore from Mysore and sought police help to trace her.DCP Ravikanthe Gowda took in-charge of the case and formed a police team to trace the girl.During the investigation, they found that the accused Anil had asked the brother of the victim to bring some tablets and had kidnapped the girl.Police traced Anil and the inquiry revealed his role in the case. He confessed that he on that day took the girl to a field and threatened her and attempted to rape her.When she raised an alarm, he took her to a sugarcane field, raped her and strangled her to death. He also had thrown the girl’s body in the field before fleeing.After three months, he went to the field and collected the bones and dumped it in a river.Youth assaults 3-year-oldBANGALORE: A 25-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing a three-year-old girl by Ashoknagar police.The accused Prabhu, a resident of Arebavipalya, is a LPG cylinder delivery agent. On Thursday afternoon, Prabhu took the three-year-old girl to an under construction building in the vicinity, where he allegedly bit her lips under the influence of alcohol.Hearing the girl scream, public gathered and caught him and handed him over to the police. Reportedly, he resides close by to the girl’s house.The intention behind taking the girl to the building is yet to be investigated, the police said.
