BANGALORE: In 1971, Adarsh Vidya Sanghm, had its first Hindi medium school in the small lanes of Chickpet area, and soon diversified into NAAC certified institution offering higher education.Thereafter, the institution has marched on and is now celebrating its entry into 41 year of service.The founder and secretary, V Premraj Jain recalls, "In our times education was almost free. We started the first Hindi medium school of AVS and now we offer courses up to post graduation.”Spread over 1.25 acres, the institution presently has 3000 students presently from different parts of the country and some from overseas, pursuing varied courses under professional guidance.To attract more girl students and SC-ST students, to take up higher studies, the college has been offering them fee concessions since 2008 and the response has been very encouraging.Meritorious students who have passed with distinction in SSLC have been given exemption from fees in order to encourage them to fare better in the pre -university examinations. 78 Acres of land has been set aside for the future expansion of the institution consisting of a sports complex.
