Budget session to commence on Feb 23

New Delhi: Budget session of Parliament will commence on February 23, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister P R Dasmunsi on Saturday.

In the three-month long Budget session, Lalu Prasad Yadav will present the Rail Budget on February 26 and Finance Minister P Chidambaram will present the General Budget on February 28.

The Rail Budget will be followed by tabling of the Economic Survey the next day on February 27.

The first phase of the Budget session will continue till March 21, said Dasmunsi.

There will be a recess between March 22 and April 17. The session to resume on April 18 and will continue till May 22, he said.

Government's recommendation has been sent to President A P J Abdul Kalam, he added.
