BANGALORE: The state government on Monday stated in the High Court that it has taken all steps to improve facilities in the Karnataka State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC).During the hearing of a PIL filed by South India Cell for Human Rights Education and Monitoring (SICHREM), government counsel Devdas submitted that at a recent meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, the decision to sanction 105 posts of different cadre to the commission under draft C and R Rules was made in consultation with DPAR. It added that decisions have been made to ensure adequate infrastructure to the commission. As of now, 105 posts have been sanctioned to the KSHRC, of which 23 will be filled up expediently.In the draft notification it was proposed to fill up the post of legal assistant/research assistant on deputation. The state also submitted that the entire fifth floor at M S Building will be allotted for the SHRC.The state is considering creating 491 posts for the commission and law secretary has been urged to take action in this regard, he said.
